Interview de Great Lake Swimmers, à l'occasion de leur mini-concert à Dialogues Musiques, le 25 avril 2012
What is the Record Store Day for you ?
Record Store Day is a chance to celebrate the great indie stores that are places where people can meet and discuss music. They are like libraries in a way, and most often in a city, a good record store is like a hub of culture. You can usually find out what interesting things are happening in a city by visiting a good record store.
What is your musical top 5 ?
Townes Van Zandt, "Self-titled"
Leonard Cohen, "Songs Of Leonard Cohen"
Roger Miller, "Roger And Out"
Bob Dylan, "Desire"
Sam Cooke, "Portrait Of A Legend"
Do you remember the first record you ever bought ?
Bruce Springsteen, "Born in The USA"
What is your favourite record sleeve ?
The Louvin Brothers, "Satan Is Real"
What is the first thing/part you look coming in a record store ?
I like listening to vinyl, and I love to find the first initial pressing of things, so I usually end up searching through the used vinyl. There's nothing more that I enjoy than putting on a vinyl record on my stereo system at home, at the end of the day, and really soaking it in. It's better than TV! And there's nothing like the warm sound of a vinyl record when the rest of the world is asleep.
